Lisa A. (Duarte) Pierce

North Providence - Lisa A. (Duarte) Pierce, 66, of East Avenue, died Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Joseph E. Pierce, Jr., to whom she had been married for thirty-eight years.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edwin and Doris (Houle) Duarte, she had resided in North Providence since 1991, previously residing in Warwick.

Lisa had earned her GED at Pawtucket West High school and went on to work for several manufacturing companies to provide for her four girls. Working hard overnight shifts, she still found time to get her certificate in bookkeeping, showing her dedication to learning and her family's wellbeing.

Being a grandmother was her greatest passion, and her family was most important to her. She was always there for her family, driving them where they needed to go and playing games with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Melanie D'Angelo and her husband Giovanni, of Pawtucket, Samantha Pierce of North Providence, and Vanessa Pierce and her fiancé Kyle Ogni of West Warwick; two brothers, Mark Duarte of Woonsocket and Bruce Duarte of Attleboro, Mass.; one sister, Susan Laboissiere of Smithfield; twelve grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was the mother of the late Stephanie Tatro; and the sister of the late Karl Fitzgerald.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 9:45 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
