Linda C. (McCarthy) Buck

North Smithfield – Linda C. (McCarthy) Buck, 71, of Old Smithfield Road, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.  She was the beloved wife of Bruce E. Buck.  Mr. & Mrs. Buck recently celebrated their 40th anniversary.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Earline (Smith) McCarthy, she had lived in Narragansett before moving to North Smithfield six years ago.

Mrs. Buck worked as a paraprofessional in the Special Needs Program in the South Kingstown School District before retiring.

She enjoyed crocheting and painting, especially with acryllics, oils and watercolors.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Buck of Texas and Jason Buck of Bristol; two sisters, Patricia McCarthy of North Smithfield, and Margaret Alves of North Providence; three brothers, Charles McCarthy III of North Providence, Kevin McCarthy of Florida, and Shawn McCarthy of North Providence; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no service.  Burial will be in West Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, Connecticut.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Boulevard, Suite 3004, Warwick, R.I. 02886 would be appreciated.  Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
