Linda A. (Grieco) Beck

Bradenton, Florida - Linda Grieco Beck, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Lincoln, RI passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

Linda was a beloved wife,mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, teacher, and friend. She was so thoughtful and cared deeply for her family and friends. She touched the lives of so many with her kindness and generosity and will be missed greatly.

Linda was born in Smithfield, RI to the late George and Albina Grieco. After graduating from Smithfield High School, she earned her degree in Education from Rhode Island College. She began her teaching career in Coventry, RI, before moving on to Bellingham Middle & High School where she taught for more than 25 years.

"What the heck, it's Mrs. Beck!" As a teacher at Bellingham High School, Linda was a favorite among her students and peers. She embraced the Bellingham community andparticipated in many school organizations and groups. Linda served as the Student Activities Coordinator and as Class Advisor for numerous classes over the years, often providing guidance and support long past their graduation date. Whether she was saying the number 'nine' in a funny voice, or asking people to pay the money they owed in her one-of-a-kind way, Linda always brought a smile to everyone she interacted with.

Linda and Bob, her husband of over 43 years, retired together to Florida a few years ago to enjoy the weather and their well-earned retirement. Linda stayed active by going to the gym, riding her bike, walking, and seeing her friends at yoga.

Gathering for birthdays and holidays were highlights for our family, and while those events will never be the same, her presence will always be felt when we're together. She was never more than a phone call or text (with multiple emojis) away. And as often as she would reach out to her children for help setting up even the simplest of electronic devices or navigating the most basic of technology, we already miss getting those questions and calls.

Linda loved her grandchildren more than anything and was the best most thoughtful Nana they could have hoped for. She was a constant presence in their lives, attending sporting events and graduations, sending countless cards and thoughtful gifts to commemorate holidays, and even reading them stories via FaceTime during dinner.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her son Robert and his wife Chanda of Tiverton, RI, her daughter Melissa of Warwick, RI, her son George and his wife Erin of Sutton, MA and her four grandchildren, Tyler, Devon, Riley, and Sloane. She was the sister of the late George Grieco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private.
