Burrillville - Leona M. LaMontagne, 93, formerly of Mapleville and Warwick, died Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Saint Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the longtime companion of the late Betty J. Reynolds.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Ovila and Hermine (Paquette) LaMontagne, she had resided in Warwick and Mapleville for many years. Ms. LaMontagne worked as a licensed practical nurse at Zambarano Hospital, Burrillville, for many years before retiring.
An avid singer, she enjoyed singing in choruses in Warwick.
She is survived by one stepdaughter, Betty Wilkerson; three sisters, Cecile Octeau of North Smithfield, Claire Tellier of Cumberland, and Noella Soucy of Cumberland; and one brother Eugene LaMontagne of Huntington, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. She was the stepmother of the late Ed Reynolds and Ethel Merrill, and the sister of the late Paul LaMontagne, Helen Metivier, and Simonne Lacombe.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 9:00 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Private burial will be in Pascoag Cemetery, Pascoag.
