Leo Gartsu Obituary

Lincoln- Leo V. Gartsu, 89, of Lincoln, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 .  He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Albanese) Gartsu for 61 years.  He was born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Leo S. and Dorothy (Shunney) Gartsu. 

Leo was a graduate of Dean Jr College and Boston University. He worked at Pratt and Whitney prior to his marriage. He was a member of  the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE Local 57) retiring after many years as a Business Agent.  Leo was also an Army and Marine Veteran.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Shirley Walsh.

He is survived by his wife, Judith, two sons, Leo V. Gartsu, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Cranston and Jeffrey P. Gartsu and his wife Andrea of North Providence, his daughter, Jodie Lee Braga and her husband Stanley of Lincoln, seven grandchildren Zachary and Isabella Rose Braga, Lindsay Jones,  Madison, Kayla, Jeffrey and John Gartsu  three great grandchildren Troy, Kylyn and Romeo Jones  and sister, Patricia Beauchamp of North Kingstown.

His funeral will be held at 9AM on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln.  Interment with military honors will follow at The Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.  Visitation Tuesday, 5-8PM at the funeral home.  Masks must be worn and social distancing must be followed.
