Cumberland - Kathleen E. Egan, 81, of Diamond Hill Road, died Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at home.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Ryan) Egan, she had lived in Cumberland for most of her life. She was a graduate of Rhode Island College, where she earned her bachelor's degree in education.
Miss Egan was a history teacher at the William E. Tolman High School, Pawtucket before retiring, and was a member of the Beta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
She loved animals, especially cats, as well as watching tennis, attending matches at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport every July. She collected doll houses and like to attend painting classes. She was an avid traveler and loved to share wonderful tales of her adventures with family and friends.
She is survived by her niece, Kathleen Lanava, and nephew, Robert Kaminski, both of Worcester, Mass.; her great nephew, Domenic Lanava; and several cousins and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Ann Kaminski and John Egan, Jr.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
