Joseph Laurie

Joseph Laurie, Age 71, of Pawtucket died on January 4, 2023, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen (Healy) Laurie, and his two sons Joseph and James, all of Pawtucket.  Joseph was the only son of Joseph and Loretta (Papineau) Laurie of Central Falls.

Many of Joe’s fondest memories included his childhood friends, and being raised in the city of Central Falls. So many stories were told around the kitchen tables of family and friends to the delight and laughter of everyone in the room.

In 1971 Joseph began his career as a Central Falls Firefighter. He remained with the department until 2005, retiring with the rank of Battalion Chief.

Joseph is also survived by his four sisters Norma Lima of Somerset, Ma., Mary Belanger of Central Falls, Gail Laxton of Cumberland, Lorraine Goff of Pawtucket, and many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 10:45am-12:45pm at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., Lincoln with a funeral service to follow at the Chapel of Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, 661, Prospect St., Pawtucket.
