Lincoln – Joseph J. Kwolek, 90, of Franklin Street, died Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Gladys (Buteau) Kwolek.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Joseph and Nettie (Hrycaj) Kwolek, he had lived in Lincoln for over sixty years.
Mr. Kwolek worked at Collyer Wire before going into business for himself, opening his own wallpaper and painting company.
He loved to go to Foxwoods and listen to the news, and pass the time asking trivia questions to anyone around him. He had a tremendous sweet tooth, and was always able to entice those closest to him to bake a dessert whenever they came to visit. He was a communicant of Saint Jude Church, Lincoln.
He is survived by his loving children, Kathleen Jones, Donna Kwolek, Corinne Wood, and her husband David, and Sherry Fernandes, and her husband Jorge, all of Cumberland, Richard Kwolek, and his wife Marian, of Leicester, Massachusetts, Wayne Kwolek of Pawtucket, and Joseph C. Kwolek, and his wife Diane of Pawtucket; his caring sister, Joan Gagnier of Lincoln; seven cherished grandchildren; and three beloved great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Nicholas Kwolek, the brother of the late Michael Kwolek, and the father-in-law of the late Ross Jones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited. Private family visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515 would be appreciated.
