East Providence - Joseph N. Inger, Jr., 95, of East Providence, died Thursday, September 11, 2025 at HopeHealth HulitarHospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Condon) Inger, to whom he had enjoyed forty-seven years of marriage.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Briggs) Inger, he had resided in Pascoag and Cumberland, before moving to East Providence thirty-two years ago.
Mr. Inger worked as an office technician for NYNEX before retiring in 1991.
A master mason of sixty-six years, he was member of Granite Lodge #26 F.&A.M., and Friendship Lodge #7, F.&A.M. in Chepachet, where he was awarded his sixty-year medal in 2019.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Paula Prete, and her husband Jeff, of Pascoag; two sons, Joseph N. Inger III of Pascoag, and John Inger of Woonsocket; two granddaughters, Kaylee Cabral and Karissa Prete; and three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Prete, Matthew Cabral, Jr. and Kason Cabral. He was the father-in-law of the late Janet Inger.
Joe's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.
His funeral and burial in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet, will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
