John R. Hunt

Lincoln - John R. Hunt, 85, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Barlik) Hunt.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late John and Margaret (Salinger) Hunt, he had been a resident of Lincoln for over sixty years.

John was the co-owner of Planned Environments Corporation, along with his partner, Paul Lussier, which developed many properties, including Wake Robin in Lincoln. He was also the owner of Phantom Farms, Cumberland, for many years. He was a graduate of Saint Raphael Academy, Class of 1958, and the University of Rhode Island. He served on the Planning and Sewer Boards in the Town of Lincoln.

Upon his retirement, John loved playing in Senior Olympics Basketball Tournaments throughout the U.S., and was proud of the gold medals they won.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kirsten Hunt of California, and Robin Trainor, and her husband John, of Cumberland; and his two loving grandsons, Justin and Kyle Trainor. He was the brother of the late Margaret Mullen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Thursday, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
