Joan R. Abraham

North Providence - Joan R. Abraham, 89, of North Providence, died Friday, May 31, 2024 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence.

Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Moses and Annie (Shabo) Abraham, she had resided in North Providence for the past forty-six years.

Miss Abraham worked as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration in Pawtucket and Attleboro, retiring in 1988.

She was a member of Saint Ephraim's Syriac Orthodox Church, Central Falls, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Margaret Pennington, Ruth Jones, George Abraham, Louis Abraham, James Abraham, Albert Abraham, Joseph Abraham, Rose Sweeting and Josephine "Sue" McLaughlin.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:00 am from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 am in Saint Ephraim Syriac Orthodox Church, 215 Washington Street, Central Falls. Burial will follow in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
