Jean (Jeffrey) Sabella

Jean Jeffrey Sabella, 98, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late S. Albert Sabella for 68 years. Born on March 21, 1927 in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Lena (Lawton) Jeffrey.

Mrs. Sabella was a graduate of Pawtucket West High School Class of 1944 and The University of Rhode Island Class of 1983 with a Bachelor's Degree in Gerontology. She worked for many years as a secretary with Narragansett Wire Company in Pawtucket. She was also a house mother at RI Hospital Nursing School. After graduating from URI she was employed by Fruit Hill Day Services for the elderly.

Mrs. Sabella belonged to the Blackstone Valley Historical Society and enjoyed luncheons with her "Classymates". Gardening was a favorite pastime and she spent many hours in her yard. She was a lover of all animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her baby, Sarah Jean Sabella, her sister Ruth Petorella and her brother Robert Jeffrey.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Sabella Kemp and her husband Lawrence and her son Albert J. Sabella and his wife Carole Wahl; two grandchildren, Serena S. Hicks and Miles L. Kemp and his wife Amy and two great grandchildren, Kyro L. Kemp and Myla J. Kemp.. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at The Historic Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Burial will follow. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
