Pawtucket - Janet P. (MacGregor) Tyler, 82, of Amey Street, died Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Pawtucket Falls Health Center, Pawtucket. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald A. Tyler.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late John and Rebecca (Jennings) MacGregor, she was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Tyler worked as a dental hygienist and worked at Apex before retiring. She was a graduate of William E. Tolman High School and the Boston School of Dentistry.
An active member of the Chapel Street Congregational Church, and former Pawtucket Congregational Church, she served on the diaconate and executive committee, taught Sunday School, and sang in the youth choir. She was a 50-year member of Queen Esther Chapter #2, O.E.S. which merged with Woonsocket Chapter #3, O.E.S. She was also involved in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls where she served as a Past Mother Advisor of Pawtucket Assembly #3, past advisory board member and a member of the Grand Cross of Color.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Bobola and her husband Andrew of Pawtucket, Nancy Huggins of Inverness, Florida, and Patricia Feldhus and her husband John of Madison, South Dakota; two sons, Scott Tyler of Pawtucket and David Tyler and his wife Tammy of Warwick; eight grandchildren Stephanie Whalen (husband Kevin), Andrew Bobola Jr (wife Lauren), Ashley Feldhus (fiancé Morgan), Brandon Hardy, Joshua Tyler, Matthew Tyler, Morgan Tyler, Addison Tyler ; and four great grandchildren Jayvyn, Camden, Lucas, Olivia.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a funeral service in Chapel Street Congregational Church, 185 Chapel Street, Lincoln.
Family and friends are invited and may attend visiting hours at the funeral home from 9:30 - 11:30 am, with an Eastern Star Service at 11:00 am. Private burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
