Cumberland - Jane C. (Moore) Gauvin, 94, of Cumberland, died Sunday, December 28, 2025 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the loving wife of the late Charles H. Gauvin.
Born in Cumberland, a daughter of the late William and Grace (Wild) Moore, she had resided in Cumberland for all of her life, and was a graduate of Rhode Island College.
Mrs. Gauvin was an elementary school teacher in the Cumberland School District, teaching at the former Clark Street Elementary and Central Grammar Schools before retiring.
A lifelong parishioner of Christ Church, she served on the Altar Guild for sixty years, serving as directress for nearly thirty years. She also volunteered her time at the church with the Parish Thrift Shop and the annual Holiday Bazaar, and was a member of the Mr. & Mrs. Club. To her, the most important things in life were her faith, her family and her friends.
She is survived by her brother, William Moore and his wife Dolores, of South Attleboro, Mass.; her nephew and nieces, William Moore, Jr. and his wife Brenda, of Pittsboro, N.C., Laurie Ogilvie and her husband Bruce, of Cumberland, Kimberly Gardner and her husband David, of Sparta, GA, and Marlene Brown of Seekonk, Mass.; nine grand nephews and one grand niece; and six great grand nephews and one great grand niece. She was the beloved aunt of the late Jay Moore, Cheryl Joubert and Todd Moore.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 8:30 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Requiem Eucharist at 10:00 AM in Christ Church, 1643 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Saturday from 8:30 - 9:30 AM.
