CRANSTON- Jacquelyn A. (Elsbree) Egan, 85, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Mark A. Egan. She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Milton and Mary (Nicholson) Elsbree.
Mrs. Egan was a Vice President of banking operations with the former Fleet Financial Group before retirement. She was a voracious reader and lover of the arts. She was an accomplished pianist and she was also a long standing member of the choir at St. Patrick Church in Providence, where she had many loving friends who she considered her extended family. She was a woman of great strength with an unshakeable faith in God, and as a member of the parish, she spent much of her time volunteering and assisting those in need. From the time she was a child through to the end of her journey, she found a profound peace at the ocean side.
She is survived by a Son, Matthew Egan and his wife Paula of Cranston, a Daughter, Christine Egan Brown of Lincoln, and her six cherished grandchildren, Jenny, Dylan, Julia, Michael, Jack, and Jillian. She was the Mother of the late Mark A. Egan III.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10:00AM in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 4-7PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to St. Patrick Academy, 244 Smith Street, Providence, RI 02908.
