Lincoln - Irene S. (Pion) Small, 87, of River Road, died Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Earl Michael Small.
Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Romeo and Marie Anne (Millette) Pion, she had resided in Lincoln since 1957.
Mrs. Small worked for Andon Electronics Corp. for over fifty years, retiring as Vice President.
Irene enjoyed sailing and spending time down near the ocean in Narragansett, and she liked to travel with her good friends, Peg and Joe Palmer. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she didn't want to miss a thing when they were growing up.
A communicant of Saint Jude Church, Lincoln, she often volunteered with fundraisers and other events. She was a member of the Lincoln Lions Club, where she was a past president.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Girouard and her husband Richard of North Providence, and Diane Grasso and her husband Steven of Lakeland, Florida; one step-son, Michael C. Small of Sarasota, Florida; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Steven A. Dulude; the stepmother of the late David M. Small; and the sister of the late Wilfred Pion and Russell Pion.
Her funeral will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 at 9:00 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
