Pawtucket – Irene D. (Fontaine) Hervieux, 82, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the devoted wife of William J. Hervieux, with whom she shared sixty-two loving years of marriage.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Alice (Joachim) Fontaine and had been a resident of Pawtucket for the past fifty years. Irene was employed at Surgi-Care for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends and was known for bringing joy to those around her. She was especially cherished for her homemade turtles and chocolate-covered strawberries, her love of card games, and the warm hugs she shared with everyone she loved.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her three devoted sons, Michael Hervieux and his wife, Jackie, of West Warwick; Steven Hervieux of North Providence; and Scott Hervieux and his wife, Brandi, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Michelle Cetola and her husband, Nicholas; Kayla Perry and her husband, Kyle; Jerilyn Lambrou and her husband, Paul; Heather Hervieux; Matthew Hervieux; and Kaylee Hervieux. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, with one expected; and was the sister of the late Albert and Raymond Fontaine.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 12:00 Noon at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with visiting hours from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. For directions, or to leave a message of condolence, please visit www.bellowsfuneralchapel.com
