Irene (Engutsian) Cloutier

Pawtucket - Irene (Engutsian) Cloutier, 100, of Pawtucket, died Sunday, June 21, 2026 at home. She was the loving wife of the late Lester Cloutier.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Sahag and Jouhar (Shamshoian) Engutsian, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Cloutier worked for the Rhode Island Department of Health Division of Drinking Water Quality, retiring in 2012 at the age of 86. When she was 65, she enrolled in the University of Rhode Island and graduated, earning her bachelor's degree in History.

Irene was a member of Central Congregational Church, Providence, and a former member of Park Place Congregational Church, Pawtucket, where she served as a collector.

She is survived by two sons, Jason Cloutier and his wife Linda of Pawtucket, and Paul Cloutier and his wife Jane, of Jupiter, Florida; five grandchildren, Sara Cloutier, Matthew Cloutier, Evan Cloutier, Ryan Cloutier and Emily Cloutier; and two great granddaughters, Ava Cabral and Haley Cabral. She was the sister of the late Oscar Engutsian and Helen Artinian.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Central Congregational Church, 296 Angell Street, Providence. Family and friends are invited. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Her burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery.
