Lincoln - Helen (McCarthy) Boyd, 90, a longtime resident of Lincoln, died Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Jerome and Margaret (Barry) McCarthy, she was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy-Bay View, and Rhode Island College, and had resided in Lincoln since 1963.
Mrs. Boyd was a 2nd Grade teacher at Lonsdale Elementary School, Lincoln for many years before retiring. She was a longtime member of the educational sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Cullion (Joseph) of Cumberland, Margaret "Meg" Bernardi (Paul) of Florida, and Jane King (Jason) of Wakefield; one son, James Boyd (Joanna) of Wakefield; eleven grandchildren, Allison Reid (Kevin Perreault) Nathan Reid, Molly Caruolo (Andrew), Dr. Kathleen Cullion (Trevor Cowan), Michael Cullion (Catherine), Paul Bernardi IV (Mia), Julia Barnes (Jeffrey), Jameson Boyd, Daniel Boyd, Andrew King and Charles King. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren, Aiden, Henry, Camilla, Campbell, Rocco, Paul V, Jack, Leo, Bowen, Michael, and Isabel. She was the mother of the late Patricia Boyd Reid and Bernard "B.J." Boyd, Jr.; and the sister of the late Margaret Mary Cummiskey and Jerome McCarthy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, October 29 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
