Pawtucket - Guy V. Brochu, 92, of Pawtucket, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence months shy of his 93rd birthday. He was the beloved husband of the late Aline (Beauregard) Brochu.
Born in St. Magloire, Quebec, he was a son of the late Achilles and Josephine (Lacroix) Brochu.
Mr. Brochu was a carpenter with the Carpenters Union Local #94 before retiring. Guy was a lover of cars. He was especially fond and proud of all the Cadillacs and antiques cars he's owned throughout the years. Guy was a hard worker all of his life. He loved telling stories of his younger days and there were many to tell. In his later years he enjoyed the numerous visits from his friend Michael. He will fondly be remembered to many by his signature song Blueberry Hill..
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Louise Brochu and Denise Brochu (William Walmsley), both of Lincoln; two sisters, Denise Suja and Jeanne-Marie Resney, both of Ontario. He was especially proud of his three grandchildren, Ryan Szlachciuk, Jason Szlachciuk and Julia Walmsley. He was also the father of his late infant son Mark Brochu and brother of the late Leopold Brochu, Claude Brochu and Gemma Poitras. He is also survived by cousins and many nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call prior to the service from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Private burial will be held on a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
