Eugene Pontbriant Obituary

Lincoln - Eugene J. Pontbriant 75, of Daytona Beach, Florida, formerly of Lincoln, died Monday, May 26, 2025, at home.

Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Eugene and Sally (Meehan) Pontbriant, he had lived in Lincoln for many years before moving to Daytona Beach seven years ago.

Mr. Pontbriant worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters Union, Local 251 for many years.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War and received several marksmanship awards in recognition of his skills as an avid shooter. Eugene was also a volunteer firefighter with the former Lonsdale Fire District in Lincoln and a member of the Jacques Cartier Society in Pawtucket.

In retirement, Eugene enjoyed the freedom of the open road, often riding his Harley through Florida with friends. He was known for his generous spirit and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Eugene had many friends and was cherished for his loyalty, sense of humor, and kind heart.

He is survived by his two children, Blake Pontbriant and Adam Pontbriant, both of Lincoln; his twin brother, Edward Pontbriant of Connecticut; his beloved grandsons, Nolan and Brody; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Debra Hill, Maryanne Melia, and Thomas Bongarzone.

A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with military honors to follow.
