Elinor Tate, age 95, passed away peacefully at the Philip Hulitar Hospice on July 27, 2019. Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on April 29, 1924, she was a daughter of Moses and Koharig (Mesropian) Movsesian. She was the second eldest daughter of a family of four daughters and two sons: Roxie, Anthony, Albert, Nancy, and Lucy, her only living sibling.
Elinor was married to Robert Arzouyan for 16 years before his death at age 42. Robert (“Bob”) was the owner of Westminster Jewelry, a costume jewelry manufacturing business. She subsequently married John O. Tate. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children from her first marriage, Alan R. Tate, Esq. and Arlene Schuler, Esq., and two granddaughters, Alexandra Tate, PhD. and Chelsea Tate, all of whom she was very proud. Elinor resided in Lincoln for many years and spent numerous winters at her home in Boca Raton, Florida. She was a long-time member of the Kirkbrae Country Club and played golf until she was 88 years old. Elinor had a beautiful smile, a wonderful sense of style and elegance, a kind heart, a terrific sense of humor and always knew how to brighten someone’s day. She never forgot a birthday or special event.
Elinor also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews. We toast Elinor, with her favorite Espresso Martini, and will forever remember her exuberance, her resilient spirit, and her generosity.
Burial at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence will be private. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
