Cumberland- Edward F. Mulholland, 85, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Marianne B. (Tepper) Mulholland. They had been married for 63 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Hugh P. and Rose Marie (Kirouac) Mulholland and had lived in Cumberland since 1966.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Mark Mulholland, his sister Dorothy Curry and two brothers Hugh E. and Ivor Mulholland.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Barbara A. Alger, three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Joe, and Adam, and one great granddaughter, Magdalena and several nieces and nephews.
Ed was Vice-President, at the Ferland Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 2013. He was appointed in 1992 to the Board of Commissioners for the Cumberland Housing Authority. He served as its chairperson many times over the more than 32 years of his involvement. He also served on the board of Valley Affordable Housing in the town of Cumberland. He had a strong background in affordable housing, with his years of experience in the housing field, he brought his affordable housing and financial skills to the Authority.
He was a member of the National Leased Housing Association where he served as its Assistant Treasurer for several years and was on the Board of Governors.
He was a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management where he earned the designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM). Through his years of participation with the RI Chapter, he chaired many committees including the Audit and Education Committees. He was a Past President of IREM’s RI Chapter No. 88.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
