Lincoln – Earl M. Small, 81, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Pion) Small. Mr. & Mrs. Small had been married for thirty-six years.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late James and Helen (Lungren) Small, he had lived in Lincoln for the past thirty-six years.
Mr. Small worked as an analyst and computer designer for McGraw-Hill, Bethlehem Steel Co., and Texas Instruments, Inc., before retiring. He was a graduate of Saint Raphael Academy, Pawtucket, and Providence College.
Earl was an active communicant at Saint Jude Church, Lincoln, where he was a collector and helped maintain the parish gardens. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, playing golf, and tending to his gardens.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael Small of Providence; and two grandchildren, Olivia Small of Germany and Finnian Small of Providence. He was predeceased by his three siblings. He was the father of the late David Small.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited. The maximum capacity of the church is 125 people. Social distancing will be followed and all guests will be required to wear a mask. His burial will be private.
