Obituary

Johnston – Dorothy L. (Schofield) Willett, 94, of Johnston passed away peacefully Monday, December 6, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late EMCS (SS) Thomas Willett, USN (ret.). They were married for 71 years.

   Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Raymond Fielding Schofield and Marie (Meiggs) Schofield, she had lived in Johnston for the past 64 years.

   Dorothy served her country as a Navy Wife, proudly supporting her sailor’s long career of Naval Service.

   Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Ann E. Willett, RN of Meredith, NH, Lt. Col. Christine R. Willett, USAF (ret.) of Johnston, and Peter T. Willett and his wife Hollie of Coventry; and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Willett and his wife Reilly, Kyle Willett, and Meagan Willett.

   Her services will be private. Her burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
