Cumberland – Dorothy M. (Oram) Bannon, 87, died Monday, June 29, 2020 at Saint Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late David M. Hastings, and the late John P. Bannon.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth (Norrie) Oram, she had lived in Cumberland and South Attleboro, Massachusetts for many years, before moving back to Cumberland one year ago.
Mrs. Bannon worked as a certified nurse’s assistant and as a secretary at Rhode Island Hospital, retiring in 2005.
She was a member of Christ Church, Lincoln, where she served on the Altar Guild and volunteered in the Thrift Shop. She loved to camp at Second Beach, Middletown, and enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by one daughter, Jacquelyn Hope of Attleboro, Massachusetts; one son, David M. Hastings, Jr. of Cumberland; one brother, Richard “Jack” Oram of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Florida; six grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late George Norrie.
Her funeral service, with burial in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, will be private.
