North Port, Florida - Doris E. (Bennett) Landry, 90, formerly of Pawtucket, died Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Tidewell Hospice, Venice, Florida. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Landry.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Thomas Bennett and Edith (Ashton) Bennett-Leach, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life, before moving to Florida five years ago.
Mrs. Landry worked as an aide in the School Lunch Program for the Pawtucket School Department for twenty years, retiring in 1993.
A graduate of Pawtucket West High School, she was a member of the former Pawtucket Women's Club, the Rhode Island General Federation of Women's Clubs, and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Pawtucket.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Hashway of Venice, Florida; three sons, Paul Landry of Smithfield, Thomas Landry of East Providence, and Mark Landry of Pawtucket; two sisters, Eunice Brooks of Cumberland and Ruth Bennett of North Port, Florida; one brother, Thomas Bennett of Boise, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Robert Landry and Gary Landry.
A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 670 Weeden Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Seekonk Cemetery, Seekonk, Mass. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Bread of Life Ministry at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 670 Weeden Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
