Lincoln – Dolores T. (Peters) Sousa, 86, formerly of Old River Road, died Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the Stillwater Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing Community, Greenville. She was the beloved wife of Raymond Sousa, Jr. Mr. & Mrs. Sousa had been married for sixty-five years.
Born in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Enos and Mary (Martin) Peters, she had lived in Rehoboth and Lincoln before moving to Greenville.
She enjoyed painting with watercolors, sewing and baking, and was a communicant of Saint Ambrose Church, Albion.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Sousa Dwyer, and her husband Kerry of Sutton, Massachusetts, and Donna Rae Haigh of Smithfield; one sister, Judith Lynch of Narragansett; and two grandchildren, Michael J. Haigh and Daniel R. Haigh. She was the sister of the late Franklin Peters and the late Barbara Francis.
Her private funeral will be available for viewing via livestreaming on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. A public Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, followed by a Mercy Meal, will be held at a later date.
