Johnston - Diane Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by family. Born on March 11, 1948, Diane lived a life defined by compassion, service, and strength.
A proud graduate of New Bedford Regional Vocational-Technical High School and St. Anne's Nursing School, Diane found her life's calling in nursing. Throughout her long and dedicated career, she worked as a Registered Nurse in healthcare facilities across Massachusetts, Florida, and Rhode Island, touching countless lives. Her final place of employment was Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston, Rhode Island. She resided at St Antoine's Residence for the last several years where she was known by many for her fiery red hair and warm heart.
Diane was the daughter of the late Margaret Clayton and Joseph Kappral, and sister of the late Janet Coderre. She was also predeceased by her former husband, Michael Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Michael Johnson and his wife Elise, and Amanda Aikulola and her husband Adejuwon. Diane's family was the heart of her world. She was the devoted grandmother of Nathaniel (wife Amanda) and Alexander Johnson, and Kaden, Eric, and Feyisara Aikulola; and the cherished great-grandmother of Caroline and Liam. Her family will remember her for her laughter, her wisdom, and the warmth she brought to every gathering.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located at 50 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI 02860. The service will be followed by a celebration of life luncheon, where family and friends will share memories and honor her remarkable life.
