Lincoln - Derek J. Lemay, 26, of Walker Avenue, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Wayne Pare of Woonsocket, and Vikki (Nixon) DeLuca of Lincoln, and stepson of Paul DeLuca of Lincoln. He was a lifelong resident of Lincoln.
Derek was involved in the Special Olympics, participating in weightlifting, golf, basketball and track & field. In his youth, he played football for the Lincoln Lions and played baseball in Lincoln Little League. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School.
Besides his parents and stepfather, he is survived by one sister, Courtney DeLuca of Lincoln; his brother, Zachary Lemay, and his wife Megan, of Chepachet, his niece and nephew, Lilian and Evan; his paternal grandparents, Ronald Pare of Blackstone, Mass., and Gloria Pare of Manville; his maternal grandfather, Joseph Nixon of Woonsocket; his step-grandmother Peggy Coyne of Malden, Mass.; his aunts and uncle, Greg Marcoux, Tina Marcoux, and Roxanne Pare; and his cousins, Cory Pare, TJ Scanlon, Katana Scanlon and Olivia Marcoux. He was the grandson of the late Debbie Nixon.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
