Cumberland - Claus D. Buschow, 94, of Cumberland, formerly of Sunrise, Florida, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Inge (Priestoph) Buschow.
Born in Berlin, Germany, a son of the late Gertrude Kramer, he moved to the United States in 1957, settling in Brooklyn, New York, and had lived in Queens, New York for thirty years, and Sunrise, Florida for thirty years, moving to Cumberland five months ago.
Mr. Buschow was a glazier with the Glazier's and Architectural Metal & Glassworkers Union, Local 1087, New York, of which he was a life member. He was proud to work on many prominent projects in New York City, including the World Trade Center.
He loved to watch soccer of all leagues, and listen to the music of composer Andre Rieu, and volunteered for many years with the Dwartz- Wolf Leukemia Foundation.
He is survived by his daughter Jeanette Berger, and her husband Eric, of Cumberland; his two grandsons Michael and Brian Birkenmaier; and God Daughter Regina Fyffe. Claus is also survived by three step-granddaughters and nine great grandchildren.
