Manville - Clara F. (Guertin) L’Heureux, 99, formerly of Manville, died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin F. L’Heureux.
Born in Manville, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Clara F. (Tiernan) Guertin, she had also lived in Woonsocket, Cumberland and North Smithfield, residing in Manville since 1992.
Mrs. L’Heureux worked as a weaver at the former Manville-Jenckes Co., Manville, as a winder at the former Corning Fiberglass, Ashton, and as a greeter at Walmart in North Smithfield, retiring in 2007.
Clara was a longtime and devoted member of the Northern R.I. Council for the Arts, and a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Gagnon of South Carolina, and Kathleen McLacken of Attleboro, Mass.; one son, William Taillon of Wilton Manors, Florida; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Aurennet Antaya and Robert Guertin.
Her funeral will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the Historic St. Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville.
