Cumberland – Claire Poirier of Cumberland, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020, into the Lord’s loving arms. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Poirier and daughter of the late Pasquale and Victoria Arone.
Mrs. Poirier was a resident of Cumberland for the past 67 years and wintered in Florida for years. She was a secretary and paraprofessional in the Cumberland School Department for many years and a graduate of Pawtucket East High School and Hubbard Business School.
An accomplished pianist and organist, she loved music, and sang in the choir at church in Florida. She was a wonderful entertainer and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was a member of a group of friends called the “Friday-Nighters”. Claire will always be remembered for her bubbly personality, kindness and generosity. She loved her family dearly. She was a communicant of Saint Aidan-Saint Patrick Parish, Cumberland.
She is survived by her six children, Lynn, Holly-Anne, Patrick, Paul, Alicia and Michelle; her brother David Arone; her ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Her funeral and burial in Resurrection Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Apple Blossom Family Fund, c/o The Cove Center, 610 Manton Avenue, Providence, RI 02909 would be appreciated.
