Lincoln - Charles K. Hunter, 91, of Hope Valley, formerly of Lincoln, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Eastgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, East Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine (D' Agostino) Hunter, and the former husband of the late Margaret C. Hunter.
Born in Ashton, a son of the late Arthur and Jane (Kay) Hunter, he had resided in Cumberland and Lincoln for most of his life. He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Fontaine, of Lincoln.
Mr . Hunter was a milkman for the former Chase & Butterfly Dairy, Maplehurst Dairy, and Bliss Brothers Dairy, and later worked as a utilityman for the Lincoln Water Commission, retiring in 1995.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Charles served his country during the Korean War . He was a member of the Capt. Elwood J. Euart Post #602, VFW , Pawtucket, and the Howard-Rogers Post #25, American Legion, Pawtucket. He served as a volunteer firefighter and warden of the Saylesville Fire District in Lincoln.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Hunter (Lynn) of Auburn, NY , and Stuart D. Hunter of Newport; five stepchildren, Karen LaBrosse of Hope Valley, Donna Valentine of Mendon, MA, Kristen Kuras of Lincoln, Robert E. Valentine of Groveland, MA, and James P . Valentine of Apopka, FL; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and several nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
