Obituary

Port Saint Lucie, FL- Charles J. Hilton, Jr., 87, of Port Saint Lucie, FL, formerly Pawtucket, Cumberland and Smithfield, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter, Brenda, in North Kingstown.  He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Boissoneault) Hilton. His partner for the last 27 years is Lelia (Lee) Byrne of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. 

He was born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Charles J. Hilton, Sr. and Doris (Bryant) Hilton.  Mr. Hilton served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Before retirement, he was a manager with MetLife Insurance for over 30 years.  He was an avid golfer. He moved to Florida when he retired and spent his time on the golf course, at the beach, and cruising the carribean.  

He is survived by his three loving children, Charles J. Hilton, III and his wife Cindy of Roswell, GA, Diane Searles and her husband Sean of Acworth, GA and Benda Briden and her late husband Scott, of North Kingstown.  He was the cherished grandfather of five and great-grandfather of three.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Richard Hilton, his sister, Dorothea Hannigan, his son-in-law, Scott Briden and his grandson Matthew Hilton Searles.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call Saturday morning, March 7, 2020  from 10:30AM 11:30AM and a funeral service will be held at 11:30AM at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., Lincoln.  Burial with military honors will follow at Newell Burying Grounds, South Attleboro.
