Caryn Paquin, 59, of Cumberland passed away peacefully at home, on May 24th surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Michael Paquin, they had been married just shy of 41 years.
Born on December 22, 1965 in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late, Robert O’Rourke and Theresa (Ukleja) O’Rourke, she was the sister of Robert, Christine, Cindy and was pre-deceased by her youngest brother, Michael.
A beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend, Caryn will be remembered for her kind and generous heart. She loved the beach, sitting by the pool, traveling with her husband and being with her grandchildren. Her kind and generous heart led her to a profession in helping others. Working for over 30 years at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, first as a secretary then moving on to a CNA and after finishing her degree, working as an RN. Upon Memorial’s closing, she worked per-diem at Landmark Medical Center. She met many close and dear friends along the way and these relationships were very important to her.
Besides her husband, Michael, Caryn is survived by her children, Courtney Paquin and her husband Daniel Polucha, Stephanie Gagnon and her husband, Joshua Gagnon and Jacob Paquin as well as her niece and fellow RN, Hannah Ellis all of Cumberland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who were all the light of her life, Austin, Raeleigh, Maddox, Oaklyn and Wyatt. Her granddaughter, Emilia was patiently waiting for Grammy to join her in heaven. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind many who called her 'family' by heart, including nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that were like family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Caryn's goddaughter, Andrea Hall, whose care, presence, and devotion meant so much in Caryn’s final days.
In keeping with Caryn’s wishes, memorial services will be private. We encourage you to honor her memory in your own way.
