Brenda A. (Bessette) Pereira

Cumberland – Brenda A. (Bessette) Pereira, 50, of Angell Road, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the UNC Rex Healthcare Center, Raleigh, North Carolina.  She was the beloved wife of James M. Pereira.  Mr. & Mrs. Pereira had been married for nearly thirty years.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of Rene C. “Joe” Bessette and Elaine A. (Chandonnait) Bessette of North Scituate, she had been a lifelong resident of Cumberland.

She was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy, Pawtucket, and from the Arthur Angelo School of Hairdressing.  Upon graduation, she worked for SuperCuts in North Providence, working her way up to Regional Director of its parent company, Regis Corporation, in a career spanning twenty-eight years.

She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends, and loved hosting holidays and family gatherings.  She enjoyed camping, for which she would go up to the Saco River Campground in North Conway, New Hampshire every summer.

Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her children, Marissa A. Pereira and Aidan J. Pereira, both of Cumberland; two sisters, Kimberly Prasinos of North Scituate and Karen DiOrio of Woonsocket; her three beloved nephews, Ryan DiOrio, Alec Prasinos and Jacob Prasinos; and her beloved pets Wheezie and Bella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.  Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Friday, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Aidan Pereira College Fund c/o www.gofundme.com/f/aidan-pereria039s-college-fund would be appreciated.
