Lincoln - Bernard R. Plante, 92, of Old Louisquisset Pike, died peacefully Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Morgan Health Care Center in Johnston. He was the former husband of the late Marcia Plante, Palmiera Papagolos and Rhoda Randall.
Born in North Providence, a son of the late Godfrey and Flora (Brillon) Plante, he had resided in Lincoln for most of his life.
Mr. Plante was a contractor and the owner of G. Plante & Son Builders, and was the former owner of Blackstone Valley Kitchen Center, Cumberland before retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Bernard loved to stay busy, volunteering his free time to build anything for family and friends, including decks, sheds and little free libraries. He also enjoyed building decorative lighthouses. He was a member of the Lincoln Conservation Commission, ZAP (Zero Away Pollution) of the Blackstone River Cleanup, CANAL (Committee for the Advancement of Natural Resources)and also a volunteer for the National Park Service. He was an avid animal lover, always making sure the birds, squirrels, and turkeys that visited his yard had plenty to eat.
He is survived by Leeann F. Sperduti and her husband, Peter of Sarasota, Florida, Mary M. Beauchemin and her husband, William of North Kingstown , and Thomas G. Plante and his wife, Lori of Menlo Park, California. He leaves five grandchildren, Bianca and Sam Sperduti, Casie and Tommy Beauchemin and Zachary Plante and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gilbert Plante, Yvette Mueller, Ronald Plante and Claire Davignon.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours prior to the service from 9:30 - 11:00 AM.
