Manville - Beatrice A. (Chevalier) Dumas, 88, of Prospect Street, died Thursday, February 11, 2021 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland J. Dumas.
Born Central Falls, a daughter of the late Antonio and Anita (Menard) Chevalier, she had lived in Manville since 1946.
Mrs. Dumas worked as an assembler in the jewelry industry for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Lincoln Senior Center and a communicant of Saint James Church, Manville. She was a former Cub Scout den mother for Pack #1, Manville.
She is survived by one sister, Marie Lussier of Manville; one brother, Maurice Chevalier of Port Orchard, Washington; three grandchildren, Luc Benoit, Sara Dumas and Ian Dumas; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Carl R. Dumas, and the sister of the late Therese Ambeault, Marcel Chevalier, Richard Chevalier and Gertrude Kappler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Relatives and friends are invited. Social distancing will be followed, and all guests will be required to wear a mask. Private burial will be in Saint James Cemetery, Manville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Lincoln Senior Center, 150 Jenckes Hill Road, Lincoln, R.I. 02865 would be appreciated.
