Barbara J. Bussart

Smithfield - Barbara J. Bussart, 63, of Farnum Pike, died Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Grandview Center, Cumberland.  

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, a daughter of Dean A. and Joan (Parlette) Bussart, she had lived in Westerly and Smithfield for thirty-seven years.

Miss Bussart was a reference librarian at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library for twenty-five years, retiring in March 2022.  She was a graduate of Arizona State University and earned her master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Rhode Island.  Barbara was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Cumberland and former member of Dunn’s Corner Presbyterian Church, Westerly.

She is survived by one sister, Kathleen B. Carlson of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one brother, Kenneth A. Bussart of Burnsville, Minnesota; and two nieces, Opal and Lily Bussart.
