Lincoln – Audrey G. (Briden) Neery, 88, of Smith Street, died Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Leo Neery and the former wife of the late Thomas Toner.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late George H. and Gladys (Goodwin) Briden, she had lived in Lincoln for nearly fifty years.
Mrs. Neery worked at Pawtucket Mutual Insurance Co., Union Wadding Co., and as a hairdresser in North Providence before retiring.
She was an accomplished pianist in Providence, and taught piano lessons for many years. She enjoyed painting in oils and watercolors. Her real passion was interior design, decorating her home with upholstery she created. She was a member of Christ Church, Lincoln, where she was active in spiritual studies and bible study groups.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathie A. Toner, and her companion Christopher Salt, of Westport, Mass.; one sister, Elaine L. Knapp of Woonsocket; one grandson, Ryan T. Waldken, and his companion, Colleen Maroney; and one great granddaughter, Julianne G. Waldken. She was the sister of the late George Briden.
A funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call prior to the service from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the R.I. Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, R.I. 02907 would be appreciated.
