Arthur Scott, Jr

Warren – Arthur Scott, Jr., 86, of Warren, died Friday, March 27, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Arthur and Irene (Demers) Scott, he had lived in Warren for many years.

Mr. Scott was a professor of Sociology at Providence College, retiring in 2005.  He was a graduate of Brown University, Providence.  He had also worked as a civilian contractor with the United States Navy.

He was an avid runner and swimmer, and was a dog lover.  He never refused a cold beer or a Dunkin Donuts cinnamon bun. Loved to read and proudly watch his New England Patriots, Red Sox and PC Basketball teams play. 

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and former colleagues. 

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Saunders, and her husband Stu, of Greenville, South Carolina, and Tracy Scott of Lincoln; two sons, Robert Scott of Smithfield, and Stephen Scott of Asheville, North Carolina; one brother, Rodney Scott of Pawtucket; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.  He was the father of the late Kelly Scott and Michael Scott.
