Antoinette LaVigne Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Antionette "Toni" LaVigne, who passed away peacefully on Thursday June 25, 2026 at the age of 90. Toni was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and spent her life in Pawtucket, a community she cherished and proudly called home.  She was the loving wife of the late Edward LaVigne.

Toni worked for Brown University operating the main switchboard for three decades.

Toni will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a lifelong love for animals and was known for rescuing and caring for countless pets throughout her life. Her compassion extended to all living creatures, and the animals she welcomed into her home brought her immeasurable joy and companionship.

Nothing brought Toni greater happiness than her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took an active and loving role in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her gentle guidance, warm embrace, and steadfast support will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Toni is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth LaVigne of Greene, Rhode Island; her son, Robert LaVigne and his wife, Lisa, of Lincoln, Rhode Island; and her daughter-in-law, Sandy Parillo of Smithfield, Rhode Island, as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Josephine Hart; her brother, William Hart; her sisters, Julia Hart and Eleanor Soltis; her daughter, Julia LaVigne; and her son, Edward LaVigne.

A Family Remembrance

"Our mother taught us the importance of kindness, compassion, and caring for those who could not care for themselves. Whether it was a family member in need, a friend looking for support, or an animal needing a home, she always opened her heart and gave whatever she could. We will forever remember her gentle spirit, her strength, and the unconditional love she shared with her family. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled in all of us."

Her Funeral will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 9:00 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
