Lincoln - Anne M. (Clemens) Alessi, 72, of Lincoln passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston.
Born in Chicago, Illinois she was the daughter of the late Willard and Bernadette (McNally) Clemens. She lived in Lincoln and Manville for many years, and was a communicant of St. Jude Catholic Church, Lincoln.
Anne graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in Rutherford, New Jersey. She earned her nursing degree from Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing, as well as her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marymount Manhattan College. She was a dedicated registered nurse in New Jersey and Massachusetts including pediatric intensive care at Massachusetts General Hospital.
She earned her master’s degree in Library Science from Simmons College, and worked as a librarian at Boston College Law School. She devoted most her life to her children, and before retiring Anne was a librarian and assistant teacher at Lincoln Public Schools.
Anne was an avid reader and lover of mystery novels, movies, running and nature walks, singing and music. But some of her happiest times were those spent with her children playing board games.
She is survived by her sons Patrick Alessi of Austin, Texas, and Brendan Alessi of Woonsocket, and daughter Bridget Alessi of Woonsocket. Besides her children, she was the loving sister of Kathleen (Clemens) and Michael Segerson of Portsmouth, James and Susan (Bohn) Clemens of Sebastian, Florida, and Jeanne Clemens and George Kaloyerakis of Toms River, New Jersey. She was the sister of the late Margaret Hobart and Mary Charlotte Clemens. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
