Warwick - Andrew J. Malm, 35, of Barber Ave., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Brigham & Woman’s Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Warwick, he was a son of Sheila L. (O’Rourke) Conlon of West Warwick and Wayne R. Malm and his wife, Dorothy of Chepachet and Groton, NH.
A lifelong resident of Warwick, Andrew graduated from Pilgrim High School in 2002 and received his bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College in 2008. He was an insurance agent with Amica Mutual Insurance Company in Lincoln and worked at his father’s company, Johnston Pool Supply, in Johnston.
He was the loving son of Sheila and Wayne, caring brother of Julie R. Scott and her husband, Ryan of Cumberland, Joseph T. Malm of East Greenwich, Christina M. Malm of Cranston and Wayne R. Malm, Jr. and his fiance, Jessica Proulx of Coventry. Cherished uncle of Maxwell David Scott and Sophia Marie Malm. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his faithful companion, Kayto.
Andrew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. A. Joseph and Louise M. (Lyons) O’Rourke, and his paternal grandparents, George E., Sr. and Evelyn (Fields) Malm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in The Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul, 30 Fenner St., Providence. Limited seating will be available. Private committal prayers will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to The Skip Gruneberg Endowment for St. Peter School, Catholic Foundation of RI, Diocese of Providence, One Cathedral Square, Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated.
