Alvin R. Tucker

Lincoln - Alvin R. Tucker, 95, of Jenckes Hill Road, died Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Anna (Verdon) Tucker.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Clarence and Ellen (Crawley) Tucker, he was a lifelong resident of Lincoln.

Mr. Tucker worked as a buyer for Harris Lumber Co. and JT Homes Lumber Service Center for forty years, retiring in 1991.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served his country during the Korean War. He was a volunteer for the Lime Rock Fire Department for thirty-two years; a member and Past President of the Pawtucket Chapter #1192, AARP, a member and Past-President of the Lime Rock Grange' and member of the Blackstone Valley Historical Society and the Limerockers. With his wife, he was an avid duckpin bowler.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Cheryl Aldrich, and her husband Gary, of Lincoln; one grandson, Justin Aldrich and his wife Brianna; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Clarence Tucker, Kenneth Tucker and Estelle Layman.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
