Lincoln – Vincent J. Spooner, Jr., 53, of Carriage Drive died Monday, December 17, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was the beloved husband of Traci (Hallas) Spooner. Mr. & Mrs. Spooner had been married for thirty-three years.
Born in Killeen, Texas, a son of the late Vincent J. and Heidrun (Janssen) Spooner, he had lived in Lincoln since 1976.
Mr. Spooner worked as a diesel mechanic for various places, currently working for the Providence & Worcester Railroad since 1996.
Vin was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Formula 1 Racing, and enjoyed spending time in East Matunuck at the Village at Potters Pond. He loved to cook all types of food, and was always experimenting with recipes. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during peacetime.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Ryan J. Spooner, and his wife Lindsey, of Hooksett, New Hampshire.
A prayer service will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call prior to the service from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Private burial, with military honors, will take place in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Rhode Island, P.O. Box 7505, Cumberland, R.I. 02864 would be appreciated.
