Therese E. (Champagne) Hanks

Woonsocket – Therese E. (Champagne) Hanks, 91, of Ridge Street, formerly of Rockland, Massachusetts, died Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late William B. Hanks.

Born in Bellingham, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Hormidas and Alphonsine (Masse) Champagne, she had lived in Rockland for fifty years, before moving back to Woonsocket two years ago.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Joe) Tolmie of Lincoln, Nancy (Bob) Cioto of East Boston, Massachusetts, and Sandra Werra of Rockland, Massachusetts; two sons, William (Maggie) Hanks of Medford, Massachusetts, and John Hanks of Chatham Ctr., New York; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Bernadette Poirier, Jeannette Harnois, Rene Champagne, Leo Champagne, Aldor Champagne, Roland Champagne, Raymond Champagne, Alfred Champagne, Dorothy Champagne, and Eva Champagne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  Private burial will take place in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Massachusetts.
