Theresa A. "Tootsie" (Lemieux) Farrell

Putnam, CT – Theresa A. “Tootsie” (Lemieux) Farrell, 75 of Putnam, CT and formerly of Manville, passed away peacefully Friday, June 23, 2017 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Farrell, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell were married 26 years. She was also the wife of the late Leo L. Faubert, Jr.

   Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Arthur and Constance (Belhumeur) Farrell, and the stepdaughter of Eunice (Jackson) Lemieux of Lehighton, PA, she had lived in Manville for 58 years before moving to Putnam, CT 13 years ago.

   She was a 1960 graduate of St. Claire High School in Woonsocket.

   Mrs. Farrell was a head bookkeeper for the Town of Lincoln before retiring in July 2002.

   She was a communicant of St. James Church, Manville where she was a Choir Member for 44 years. She also served St. James Church as a Religious Education Teacher for 25 years, CYO Adult Council Leader for 7 years, Parish Council Secretary for 6 years, and Parish Auditor since 1998. She served as a Den Mother for 8 years at Joseph’s Church, Woonsocket and Assistant Brownie Leader for 3 years at St. James Church.

   Mrs. Farrell was the Treasurer of the Manville Fire District for 12 years.

   Besides her husband and stepmother, she is survived by her daughter, Diane Dumond of Thompson, CT; her son, Denis Faubert of Fall River, MA; her stepson, Robert F. Farrell, Jr. of Leavenworth, KS; four sisters, Karen Taylor of Summersville, W. VA, Roberta Thompson of Lehighton, PA, Susan Cortez of Wilmington, NC and Martha Roberts of Estes Park, CO; two brothers, Roger Lemieux of Las Vegas, NV and Lynn Hatley of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, David Dumond, Jr. of Chepachet, Brittany Faubert of North Smithfield, Kevin Michael Farrell of Abilene, TX and Shaughnessy Farrell of Leavenworth, KS; two great granddaughters, Lillian and Kaine Dumond; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late David Lemieux and the stepdaughter of the late Earle Hatley.

   Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 1 at 11 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Her burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville.
