Norman E. Gavitt

Providence – Norman E. Gavitt, 85, of Hope Street, died Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Kent Hospital, Warwick.

He was born on March 6, 1932, a son of the late Harold and Doris (Dawson) Gavitt.  He was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mr. Gavitt worked at E.L. Freeman Co. Store for thirteen years, and at Rowe Vending Co. for nineteen years, retiring in 1985. 

His hobby was gardening and landscaping.  He liked most sports, and his favorites were golf and softball.

He is survived by many cousins.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, 724 Pleasant Street, Pawtucket.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.  Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
